National Sales Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for the sale of the Lyon’s Commercial data products throughout the United States and provides ongoing support to product distribution channel. This is a new role and an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales person looking to build their own team and work in a dynamic and fast-growing company with a strong presence and reputation in the industry.
This position involves managing a team of three sales people and selling throughout the United States. Our customers rely on Lyons to conduct financial transactions safely and with reduced errors. We count among our customers America’s largest financial institutions including Federal Reserve banks and Fortune 500 companies, but our small business customers also receive the same great service. Our sales cycle is compact- typically 30-60 days.
Essential Functions

  • Work with CEO and Lyons General Manager to create strategy for sales.
  • Be knowledgeable about the portfolio of financial data products Lyons Data offers, and to whom they are of interest.
  • Within the first year, recruit and train a team of 2-3 individuals to assist with sales.
  • Ensure that sales team utilizes organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and increase sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
  • Be actively involved in a sales orientation and sales training programs.
  • Act as a resource to sales team, once developed, in contract opportunities and proposals.
  • Assist sales team, once developed, with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.
  • Assist with the planning of sales exhibits.
  • Attend occasional trade shows.
  • Coordinate and lead sales meetings to include site selection and agenda preparation.
  • Keep abreast of informed of new products, services, and new potential product lines of interest to customers.
  • Check on competitive activity and develop new methods of attaining new accounts.
  • Troubleshoot problems regarding products provided.
  • Answer questions and handle complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Required Education and Experience

  • Experience selling subscription-based information products
  • Minimum of two years’ experience managing a team of at least 2-3 sales staff
  • At least four years of sales experience.
  • Experience in setting prices for sales of information products
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five plus years of sales experience with a software organization.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Advanced training in recent sales techniques.
  • Experience recruiting and training sales staff

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will be responsible for building, supervising, training, and assisting with the recruitment of a collective team of four, including remote staff.


Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The standard work hours for this position are 9:00 AM- 5:30 PM. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel
This position requires occasional travel. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.
